Laser skin resurfacing is carried out by one of our experienced Consultant plastic surgeons or dermatologists trained specifically in delivering this treatment.

The Iridex Venus (Erbium: Yag) laser restructures the skin by delivering an intense laser beam in very short pulses to the affected area. The sophisticated laser technology ensures that the top layer of the skin (the epidermis) is removed with a minimal risk of damage to the skin. The laser light energy delivers heat to the deeper tissue (the dermis); this stimulates collagen and growth fibres that lead to a tighter, smoother skin.

Most treatments require a local anaesthetic injection- the treatment is carried out at our clinic in the fully equipped minor operations unit.  For patients undergoing full face resurfacing a general anaesthetic would be recommended – this would involve hospital admission.

A consultation prior to treatment to assess your individual needs is essential. You can be confident that our team of experienced Nurses and doctors will also ensure that you receive first class after care and support following treatment.

how many treatments will I need?

Just the one treatment will make the difference to your skin that you are looking for, however this will be discussed during your consultation.

how long does the treatment take?

Usually around 45 minutes, however this depends on the area being treated.

can I wash the area that’s been treated as normal?

Clients are provided with an aftercare pack which contains everything they require to care for their skin in the period after treatment.
