what is included in the free consultation?
Your free of charge consultation will last for approximately 30 minutes and gives you the opportunity to come in and talk to one of our experts about the treatment process and what it involves. It also allows us to look at the area you want treating and give a more accurate idea as to the likely number of treatments involved and potential cost. You can ask any questions you may have in relation to the treatment, we'll also show you some before and after images of other treatments that have been carried out. You can then go away and make an informed decision as to whether you wish to proceed with treatment. Whether you decide to go ahead or not, the consultation is completely free of charge.
which peel is for you?
At GSD we have an extensive range of peels available. We can treat the face and neck and also problematic body areas. All our peels are ‘clinic strength’ rather than those available at beauty salons. We can offer a peel to suit your skin concern, lifestyle and budget.
At GSD a free consultation allows us to advise you as to which peel will give the best results. We have a range of glycolic acid peels (derived from sugar cane) that involve no ‘down time’. We also have stronger, deeper peels that cause noticeable skin peeling and may require 'time off '.
how many treatments will I need?
We usually recommend a course of 6 treatments. We advise a treatment every week or every fortnight, depending on the skin concern. After that, maintenance peels will keep your skin in great shape.
will it hurt?
When you have a skin peels all you feel is a ‘stingle’ - a combination of a tingle and a slight sting. If you have a deeper peel we use a cool air blower to reduce any discomfort.
what areas can you treat?
We have a wide range of skin peels at GSD that can be used on the face, neck and body. This includes the back, chest, arms, legs and backs of the hands. There is something for everyone. Our range of peels and expert practitioners means that we can treat all skin types. We have a consultant dermatologist available to treat complex conditions. You are in safe hands at GSD.
do I need time off work?
No. Your skin may look a little red for 20 to 60 minutes after your peel but you can return to your normal routine straight away.
how do I prepare for my peel?
We will plan an individual prescription of products for you to use at home. It’s vital that you start the exfoliating process before your first peel, so that you obtain optimum results.
what do I need to do after my peel?
We offer a free of charge review to check you are completely happy with your results. We recommend you use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more after your peel. It’s also important to avoid direct sun exposure or sun bed sessions afterwards. And it’s best, but not essential, to keep your skin free of make-up for 24 hours.
